The problem i have is where i want the flue to go on my ambulance conversion there is a structural piece of aluminium which i do not want to cut through for stability reasons.
In pic1 the aluminium is just below the flue and its about 50mm in depth, so i cant go below it as the angle for the flue is wrong.

As seen in pic 2 the height from where ive put the flue to the exhaust has a gap of about 100mm,

So my question is can i lengthen the tube on the exhaust t joint (pic3) to reach the flue, this shouldnt have any bearing on the operation of the exhaust system should it???

There advantage of buying an old ambulance to convert is that it is already insulated and lined...the disadvantage is not knowing where the structural supports are when you want to do anything...!!!!!

no reason why not.usually a bad idea if your pipe stops going up,or gets so long it could cool down and stop convecting.i use propex exhaust pipe which fits ok,but any metal pipe will do or even thin aluminium rolled into a tube.i then use aluminium tape to seal the joins

Looking at your pics, you have not cut any ventilation holes, only one for the flue? Extending the flue a short distance will be ok but you need airflow for the fridge to operate correctly.

Well noted Aladdin...but this was just the first fix, i needed to get the exhaust pipe fitted first so i would know where to fix my vents properly;)

you can extend the flue I have done it before on a boat to bring it above deck level and it worked fine but you also need to lag the extension to avoid cooling which will slow down the speed of the flue gas leading to possible spillage and also condensation formed can run down and corrode the burner parts

I believe I used 22mm cu tube to make the extension
