Dual battery charger

Squibby

Hi all,

Have just received a T-Max Duel battery charger kit, pulled out the installation instructions and I'm not happy, the instructions are Cr*p, I have seen better circuit diagrams on the back of a fag packet. :scared::scared:

Anyone out there installed this type of system before, I could do with some help, I'm qualified for working on up to 60,000 volts, but can't do anything with just 12 volts if the instructions are as useful as an ashtray on a motor cycle.

Yeah thats the same as the one I got with the kit, thought they would have had a better diagrame.

Will have a bash at installing the kit mid July and will post the results.

I have just completed a solar panel installation only a 40w one due to space on my Duetto. The wiring is simple enough, my main problem was where to run the wires. Basically run the the pos and neg from the solar panel to the dual battery regulator. Some people say via a fuse in the pos leg. I didn't but prob will shortly. Put the regulator within a metre of leisure battery if you can. Connect leisure battery to battery 1 via inline fuse in pos leg. Then do the same with battery 2. Dont put any fuses in until all wiring done. Then put battery 1 fuse in first. I stuck plastic spoilers to the roof and screwed the solar panel to the spoilers with self tappers. I don't know your panel specifically but I think you can usually adjust the charging rate for the 2 batteries to say 50/50 or 70/30.

Good luck

Pete
