So my idea is actually do-able then, Mr Brown?
I figured it must be, plenty others have done it before, but I get so much negative feedback and shock horror reactions from the naysayers I know that I tend to lose a bit of confidence & tell myself I'm just daydreaming. But I'm not, am I? Main thing I've been looking for is something with a reasonable amount of level ground and its own water supply. Aesthetically a nice outlook too. Am I asking too much for too little money? It's scary too.
As for downsizing, I don't know how many pairs of shoes & other gear a person needs, but as long as I've got a tough pair of boots, weather gear, plenty changes of knickers & socks (they don't take much space, do they?) and some decent tools for working I'm all set
Wonder what power machinery you'd need to look after 8 acres? Looks like part of it is grass they've cut for hay. Might need a mini tractor & plough. Bet the local farmers have all the gear & might do some of it if I paid them, or I could maybe hire & do myself.
I've got this pent up, restless energy. Been building up for years and if I don't do something to really change my circumstances, other than endlessly talking about it, I'm going to explode! Six years to go before can draw state pension.
Anyway, on that front I've booked a local estate agent for end of this month to give valuation on our house. Need both selling & letting values, can't decide which is best just yet, but I'm leaning towards selling. That's if the Russians haven't bombed the cr*p out of us all by then, in which case I shall die without living my days out in a bit of warmth. Boo! Hiss!
Jeez, this weather! Nuff to make you slit your throat up north just now. Gonna be hot next week they say. Fingers crossed, god knows we desperately need it. Plants in my garden are rotting, the hedges are dying back and the grass in back fields is turning brown. Never known the ground so waterlogged either.
