Ctek D250S dual and solar diode

I have just one of the above and I couldn't see any mention as to whether or not I need to use a blocking diode on the solar panel feed. I know I needed one with my old controller.

I have no diode fitted and all works well, very well with the same unit and an 80w panel. I upped cable sizes from the D250$ and the batteries

most solar panels over 50wt come with diodes i was told . bp seem to.

My current panel is only a 40w one. I have been advised that there is no requirement for a diode from a reliable source. I have connected it up on a temp basis to see how it goes.
Thanks for the replies

Well it has been on and functioning very well in the recent sunshine so I can confirm that a blocking diode is certainly not required when using the Ctek system. All I need now is a source of larger panels as 40w is not going to be enough power when I start giving the system a bit of abuse with my radios!!!!.
