Campervan lining

Woo what a day!

We have been lining our camper today with some light coloured vehicle carpet. Everything was going fine until we got to the curves around the windows! Our carpet isn't the stretchy kind so we assumed we could put some diagonal cuts in the edges and fill them in with off cuts later on. However because it was so pale coloured they stuck out like a sore thumb!!
We have found a way now to disguise this which will be by using long thin strips of carpet with a kind of hem which will border the windows.
Has anyone else had this problem and how did you overcome it?

Hi Sophia9187,

On my van the concave bit is covered with something like synthetic leather but the same colour as the carpet. It is trapped behind the carpet and behind the window seals. Behind most of it there is air gap which seems to add to the insulation. I am sure I have seen something similar in Dunelm Mill.

How about a thin strip of bendable plastic or other material, cut to the width of the window reveal and to four lengths ( top bottom and two sides), covered with the matching wall lining fabric/carpet, then fixed in place to cover the window reveal surround.
