Here are some pics of our self build Leyland DAF, named Bruno after the movie character as it started life as a minibus and is now 'camper'

how it all started, bought off ebay , MoT, only 27000miles, ex minibus with only 6 seats now

all the wood used for panelling and flooring was recycled window boards of plywood which were originally used for shop windows during the Notting Hill carnival, all work was done outside at various pubs around the UK as we moved around

a recycled Ikea wardrobe, it was a little too high, too wide and too long but once cut down made a superb skeleton for the toilet/wardrode

now onto the bodyworl, norma tinworm on bonnet leading edge and water trap inside front wings which rots through
rather than try matching the white we decided to put some colour on it

the design for the bonnet, Bruno the Dragon, sketched behind the bar one afternoon, no picture of it on the bonnet yet but it has been done

The van has been finished since July 2010 and has been used for wildcamping and site camping all over the UK and is shortly to go on a trip to Holland, it has been reclassified as a Motor Caravan by DVLA which lowered the insurance by a shed load of cash

any questions or help needed doing your own van just ask and we can tell you probably how not to do it first
