Any one used a drop down bed

Deadsfo

I have had a thread running on the Motor home knowledge forum ,I posted regarding using a Merc 508 ex nato ambulance for a conversion, however after looking further into it it would appear that the company selling them misquoted the length of the vehicle, quoted 5.6mtrs when it is only5.04mtrs and so the upshot is I would only have 10ft instead of the 12ft I was expecting (I am reliably informed length does count).so I am looking for a way to fit in all the bits .
A good few years ago when I was having a vwlt35 converted by Nu Venture, who incidently did a superb job,I looked at using a drop down bed that lived up against the roof of the van and was 'brought down' when required ,they were quite expensive so I never looked into them in any detail,if anyone has some knowledge of this feature I would gratefull,or a nice detailed plan of how to fit everything into 10ft.!!

The hymer beds are like that as in my hymer there is
A bed up front a double that pushes up to the roof
It has I believe a big spring at each end making it easy to
Pull down and up and when down it sits in the space over
The front seats and in the front dashboard area I'm currently
Renovating my motorhome now and have loads of stuff on my
Bed or I would put pictures on for you

My Hymer Tramp has one.

Unlike the other Hymers mine runs the entire length of the vehicle, so it's awkward if like me you get up early and your wife gets up late, but handy not to have to move cushions round before you go to bed. I'm not sure how you would fit one in your vehicle though, as it's a complicated cantilever arrangement and you could be better fitting a roof tent.

I too have a hymer with over cab bed. It's far more comfortable than the fixed bed we used to have in our other van. The bed moves up and down on gas struts and us easy to pull down and push up. We find it very comfortable and you still have the rest if the van to move around in if one of you is still in bed

http://www.unicat.net/pdf/EX37-IvecoDaily4x4-exposee-en.pdf what about this layout make seating area for 2 not 4 and or use swivel seats in cab

wow that is some conversion, parts of it look like NASA built it for a moon landing, the use of the space in front of the door to house pat of the bathroom is interesting I have never seen that done before,i see what you mean using the cab with swivel seats as this is about 12ft or so I could get very close to something resembling this layout.
