A bit more done!

Poppy

Finally able to get some work done on The Duck

Took shelf over the cab out (really thick, heavy wood), so will be going with something, somewhat lighter!
Did the second coat of red oxide, cleaned & sealed the roof join with CT1. Cut the hole ready for EHU & applied 1st coat of oxide & the covered with plastic (just in case)! Glued 1st camping mat to area around the window, marked out area for roof vent & attached 2 battens, ready for side panels....Oh & secured the floor panels. All in all, fairly happy with what got done today:cool1:

It's looking good, coming on well. How can you work in such a clean working environment:)

I like chaos - makes me feel I've done more than I really have. I would also prepare the scene prior to photography. ;)

Just wish I had the skills of a self builder, coming along nicely.

Ummmmm, not sure it's all about skill mate......vision & passion play a great part in it all and I think if we take things slowly, we get to see any mistakes unfolding right infront of us, thus being able to change direction.

HUH.....listen to me, talking like I've done it all before!

I believe that not having done this before can be to your advantage!

By not having done it before, you'll do research, solicit opinion, take great care and carry out work to the best of your abilities.

You'll care more about what you're doing, and why and how you're doing it than the people that build vehicles day in, day out.

To them it's just a job, whereas this is your van!

I frequently saw superior standards of workmanship from DIY mechanics than from those whom did it for a living.

The web is a great information resource, and you are your own resource, your confidence will grow as you tackle more work and realize just how straightforward it is.
