Installing the autoterm 4D and I just wanted to ask if it’s ok to have it installed as pictured? We have just seen the very small detail about the first meter of ducting having to be straight with no bends. Is this a safety feature or is it an efficiency thing?

How do I connect the two prong end of the 12VDC heat trace cable to a positive and negative line running from my fuse box for my 12v system? There doesn't seem to be a positive or negative wire just the two bus wires. TIA
