Would you be able to expand on this please? It’s my first time doing this, and what I think you mean is that there is not positive or negative end on the heat trace cable, therefore, I can just connect it to either the negative or positive side of my fuse box? Is this correct?It won't be polarized.

If you’re missing the switch or thermostat, that trace heating will drain your battery constantly.If its trace heating you also need some other stuff which I presume you have, (switch/thermostat)? If not the trace heating will be a constant drain on your battery
