Dear All
In the new old van purchased there are some new components to install a new split charge relay
See the images in this link https://photos.app.goo.gl/tDsakiHT4tPGV5EE8

I am unsure where to start? Can anyone help or point me to a good resource? I have posted in some Talbot Talisman Groups on Facebook but not had that much joy yet. Any help appreciated, will make you a tea at least, should we ever meet !!

Cheers
Robert

Hi Robert,
That kit looks like it covers all you need (with the one proviso - will the 6mm rings fit on your battery terminals? some terminals have 8mm studs).

I'll send you an installation guide so at least you will know how the bits go together :)

Update: I am just in the process of updating my guide for extra options. in the meantime, you can download it from the store here - https://wildebus.com/store/index.php?route=product/product&path=69&product_id=98.
You will need to logon to your account to "buy" it, but it is a zero-cost item, so no payment on the store required.

I have uploaded the diagrams for the kits I do as a PDF - your kit will be following the 2nd diagram (140A VSR)

See here - https://motorhomebuilder.com/resources/split-charge-wiring-guidelines.42/

I haven't specificed lengths of cables, just short, med and long.
I usually make the SHORT ones 200mm; the MEDIUM 500mm, and the LONG whatever it needs to be to suit the vehicle (typically around 2.6M for a VW Transporter sized van with a Starter Battery in the Engine Bay and a Leisure Battery under the Seat (this is the default VW layout)

Dear @wildebus
It has taken me a long time, well 6 hours probably but I have finished and tested the set-up and all seems good when using the Battery Monitor I got from you - I have updated the google photos app with the latest photo's
https://photos.app.goo.gl/tDsakiHT4tPGV5EE8

Thanks for all the help
BTW I kept short cable to the fuses on both batteries. Then cable from Main battery to Split charge was a bit longer and split charge to fuse on leisure battery longer than that. All seems good though

Thanks again
Robert
