Victron Update

For those people with Victron Multiplus's and other VE.Bus units, there was something missing from the VE.Configure options when configuring the charger....

You can configure the Absorption and Float Voltages, plus the maximum absorption time, but something that has been missing is to configure the temperature compensation value and were stuck with the Victron default of -16.2mV/C (for a 12V system), which may or may not suit your batteries.

Victron released a firmware update a few months ago that added a configurable setting for this.

If your batteries match the Victron default, that is good, but if they would prefer a different setting, then it is worthwhile updating the firmware. My batteries want a 2mA/Cell compensation - so just 12mA/C rather than the Victron 16.2mA/C. With the firmware update, I can now fine tune nearly all the key parameters
