  1. Goodbye to campervan life.

And life is short, make the most of it.
  2. Goodbye to campervan life.

Time to call it a day, my travelling days are over. It has been interesting watching the postings on this forum, just a shame that it has not really taken off and overshadowed by the 'other forum', which has grown from strength to strength, that certain members on here fell out with. Good luck...
  3. I can't see this all electric panel van will be of any interest to us self builders!!!

I often wonder about the weight of the batteries and how this will impinge on the total weight and load carrying ability of the van.
  4. Smug or what?

he might have enough grounds to reject the van and get his money back. If more buyers rejected faulty vans then the quality would almost certainly improve as the dealers won't want all the hassle.
  5. Electric Gas Valve

Not designed for continuous operation whilst energised which is the state it would be in for gas to flow. As you may need it on for days on end when on a site then unfortunately not suitable which is a pity as it seemed a good idea.
  6. Renault Master/Vauxhall Movano back door handle, beware!

    Thanks for the warning
  7. Foam for pull out bed

Hi, Apologies if this has been covered before but what recommendations do you have for foam to be used on a campervan settee/pull out bed. I am looking for something up to 6" thick and needs to be both comfortable for sitting on and for sleeping. Any recommended supplier would be appreciated Thanks
  8. Forum a bit quiet

People can choose what they want to read about and ignore parts they are not interested in so always worth posting details to give them the option.
  9. Forum a bit quiet

The forum is a bit quiet at the moment with little additional info on van conversions. I haven't added anything as I have nothing useful to add but I do miss looking at what others have done and getting ideas to improve my own van. Any thoughts on how to liven it up appreciated.
  10. Updated guidelines

Can anyone see what the difference is in the updated conversion guidelines (30 April 2020) compared with the last update. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/converting-a-vehicle-into-a-motor-caravan/converting-a-vehicle-into-a-motor-caravan
  11. DVLA requirements for change to motor caravan

We will all have different opinions on this but I don't see any ambiguity at all in this. The reason for the new quidelines is to make the vehicle look more like a motor caravan than just a van with window and to do that you need to have 2 windows on one side of the main body + the passenger or...
  12. DVLA requirements for change to motor caravan

But that is what they are saying, 2 or more windows on at least one side of the main body (this does not include windows on the driver or passenger doors)
  13. DVLA requirements for change to motor caravan

The point of the new guidelines is to make the van look like a motor caravan and not a van with window or a crew cab type van. If you only have a window in the loading area door it will still look like a van with window or crew type van, by adding an additional window it then starts to look more...
  14. DVLA requirements for change to motor caravan

Don't really understand why anyone is confused by this, it couldn't be any clearer. The guidelines clearly state: 2 or more windows on at least one side of the main body (this does not include windows on the driver or passenger doors) to provide a reasonable amount of daylight into the living...
  15. DVLA requirements for change to motor caravan

I suspect that the next person to contact the DVLA will get a different answer. It clearly states 2 or more windows on at least one side of the main body (this does not include windows on the driver or passenger doors) to provide a reasonable amount of daylight into the living accommodation...
